Boadman — Cookies Policy

What changed in v1.1: we name PostHog as our analytics provider and its cookie (§2, §3, §5).

1. What we use cookies for

Boadman uses cookies to (a) keep you signed in across pages, (b) remember your consent preferences, and (c) measure how the service is used so we can improve it.

2. Categories

Strictly necessary — session, security (CSRF protection), and consent state. These are set without consent because the service cannot function without them, as permitted under PECR.
Preferences — language, locale, layout choices. Set only with your consent via the cookie banner.
Analytics — pseudonymous usage measurement with PostHog (EU region), including heatmaps of where visitors click, scroll and move the pointer on a page. Set only with your consent.
Marketing — advertising attribution. Not enabled at launch; we will ask for your consent before enabling it.

3. Third parties

Strictly necessary cookies are first-party only. We use PostHog (EU region) for analytics, only with your consent: its cookie is set on our own domain and analytics data is sent through our own servers to PostHog's EU region. We do not use advertising cookies. If we introduce any other third-party analytics or marketing cookie, we will name that provider in the cookie banner before any such cookie is set.

4. Your choices

You can change your cookie preferences at any time via "Cookie preferences" in the site footer, which reopens the cookie banner's "Manage preferences" view. Withdrawing analytics or marketing consent will not affect your ability to use the platform.

5. Retention

Session cookies: cleared when you sign out, and expire after at most 30 days.
Consent cookies: 12 months from your last update.
Analytics cookie (ph_<project>_posthog, set by PostHog): up to 12 months, only if you opt in. It is deleted when you withdraw analytics consent.
Analytics events collected by PostHog: deleted 12 months after collection.
